Amazon Data Center Physical Security Specialist , DC Physical Security in Boardman, Oregon
Description
AWS’ Infrastructure Physical Security Team is looking for a Data Center Security Specialist with experience working in critical infrastructure installations, ideally data centers.
As a Data Center Security Specialist you will be tasked with driving operational security excellence in a control room setting or in several facilities located within a short driving distance. Your vigilance will drive a culture of quality and support proactive identification of physical security vulnerabilities for remediation. You will interface and direct security vendors involved in new security construction, repairs, daily security operations, patrols, and planning. You will extract metrics and observe improvements by looking at hard data available. You will advise and recommend security systems improvements and design and will lead security awareness training for data center occupants. You will write and implement security procedures and directorates, reports, develop presentations, and advise leadership on the status of physical security operations.
Key job responsibilities
Help lead daily operational security as part of a security operations team across multiple facilities
Drive security awareness campaigns aimed at enhancing security vigilance and effectiveness
Experience with workflow ticketing and extraction development of performance metrics
Lead security investigations across campus facilities
Oversee physical security vendors that provide guards, electronic security systems, door construction/repair, fencing, and access controls
Distill overarching security strategy into daily tactics to reach management goals
Oversee security construction projects
Provide security awareness training to data center personnel
As this is a GovCloud region, the selected candidate requires US Citizenship or equivalent status
May be tasked with working different work shifts consisting of Day, Mid or Evening/Overnight shifts.

Basic Qualifications
1+ year of experience working in a standards-based professional work environment
1+ year of experience collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to drive process and system improvement, and effect quality assurance
1+ year of experience with Microsoft Office tools
Preferred Qualifications
Associates degree or higher and/or equivalent professional experience in corporate or government security environment
2+ years of experience with excellent verbal and written communications skills in a professional work setting
2+ years of experience writing detailed reports
2+ years of overseeing security vendors that provide guards and electronic security systems
2+ years of experience creating and implementing emergency planning programs, physical security countermeasures
2+ years of root-cause analysis experience
2+ years of experience creating and implementing emergency planning programs and physical security countermeasures
Familiarity with security program automation and implementation
Familiarity with various Access/Intrusion Control Systems
Ability to interpret program objectives, develop project schedules and manage adherence to established timetables
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals regarding physical security standards and system designs
