Responsibilities The Caylor Nickel Foundation Family YMCA seeks an enthusiastic individual to join our team to work part-time as a Group Exercise Instructor. Under the wellness director's supervision, Group Exercise Instructors lead classes connecting participants to one another and their wellness goals.
Connect: Build effective, authentic relationships with members and help to connect them with each other. Serve: Adhere to appropriate and safe class structure, including all health and fitness components, and recognize when participants need assistance, acting promptly to help them. Inspire: Lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as well as answer questions from participants to support them in their goals.
Requirements Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:
Minimum of 18 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent. A degree in the health and fitness field is preferred. One year of group exercise instruction or equivalent is preferred. Must have and maintain valid and current certifications outlined by position; certifications can include: ACE/YMCA, ACE, ACSM, AFAA, or NETA. Able to fulfill all demands and skills in spirit, mind, and body for aqua-aerobic instruction in accordance with YMCA standards. Positive, service-oriented attitude serving diverse groups in regard to age, abilities, ethnicity, gender, race, economic status, religion, etc. Team player willing to contribute to the culture, mission, and values of the YMCA
