Director of Sales

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with the President through strategic and business planning to set Sales goals, objectives, and strategies, and focus of marketing efforts.
  • Contracting, educating, and training all commissioned sales reps for given accounts, territories, etc., as necessary.
  • Determines best marketing/sales team in line with business strategy and plan. Together with President assists with selection and hiring, training as may be necessary, of any additional Sales and Marketing group, including in-house estimator, etc.
  • Assisting Accounts Receivable with collection of all past due receivables to maintain all accounts in current receivable status.
  • In-direct responsibility for determining necessary price adjustments, advising, and securing help of engineering and President, and direct responsibility for communicating to customers of same, and working with customers for prompt resolution and/or any contract adjustments.
  • Direct negotiation of all pricing issues for in-house accounts, guidance, and direction with negotiations for commissioned sales rep accounts.
  • Manages quoting process and activities for new business or engineering changes to existing business.
  • Responsible for oversight of customer service activities.
  • Responsible for selection and training of staff or assistants for customer service activities.

The Director of Sales reports directly to and is fully accountable to the President of the company.

**[Authority: [The Director of Sales receives his/her authority from the President. This includes the creation of a marketing plan, both short term and long term, including all pricing to customers, identification of market focus regarding both new and existing customers.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • Previous job experience as sales representative or salesman in stamping or similar manufacturing type business.
  • Five (5) years experience in sales or marketing within a similar type company/operation.
  • Strategic planning skills.
  • Goal setting and action planning skills
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Aids supervisor in identifying training needs. Attends and participates in all scheduled training and education programs identified for this position.
  • Employee must be able to verbally explain company Quality Policy and ISO Quality Management Systems.
