Altium Packaging is one of the largest plastic container companies and suppliers of rigid plastic packaging. We specialize in customized mid- and short-run packaging solutions and serve a diverse customer base in the pharmaceutical, dairy, household chemicals, food/nutraceuticals, industrial/specialty chemicals, water, and beverage/juice segments.
We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Machine Operator in Blue Mountain, MS. As a Lead, you will provide direction and support to the shift team. You will be responsible for driving compliance with standard operating procedures and policies, such as SAFETY, QUALITY, GMP & CPS. Our Leads are assigned to one or more of following functions: Production, Maintenance, Warehouse and Quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Champions a safety culture, ensures a safe work environment, and promotes safe behavior
Lead will be responsible for warehouse and production departments
Conducts safety, maintenance, machine operation and quality assurance training to new employees
Operates blow mold machines and other related equipment
Troubleshoots and resolves process problems and makes minor repairs to blow-mold and support equipment
Prepares and documents daily production reports, including rejects, regrinds, line efficiencies and other
Loads and unloads trucks and secures product in accordance with customer requirements; inspects incoming materials
Records shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability
Determines method of shipment by examining items to be shipped, destination, route, rate, and time of shipment
Performs in-process inspections/line walks of manufactured product during molding, packaging and loading
Completes laboratory testing and collects samples at established intervals
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma, or equivalent
2-3 years’ experience as a Lead Machine Operator
Supervisor/Lead experience in a manufacturing setting
3+ years’ manufacturing
1-2 years’ blow mold, extrusion and/or injection mold machine operation
Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)
Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills are required
Machine maintenance experience
Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
Ability to work overtime

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
