Maritz is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Event Planner II to lead the planning and execution of professional education medical events in the life sciences/pharmaceutical industry. This role will be integral in delivering impactful events designed to educate healthcare professionals (HCPs), enhance medical knowledge, and build meaningful connections.

The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare compliance, a deep understanding of HCP interactions, and a proven ability to manage complex events within a regulated environment.

This is a hybrid role located out of Blue Ash, Ohio or Raritan, NJ.

Event Strategy and Planning:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define event objectives, target audiences, and outcomes.

  • Develop comprehensive event plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

  • Ensure events align with brand standards, educational goals, and industry regulations.

​Event Execution:

  • Manage all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, and technology needs.

  • Coordinate registration processes, attendee communications, and travel arrangements for HCPs.

  • Oversee on-site or virtual event execution, ensuring seamless delivery and exceptional attendee experience.

HCP Compliance and Industry Expertise:

  • Maintain strict adherence to healthcare compliance regulations, including Sunshine Act reporting, honoraria, and expense tracking.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on HCP guidelines, ensuring all events meet industry and corporate standards.

  • Monitor and apply trends in medical education and professional learning to enhance event offerings.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, medical affairs, and sales, to align event content with strategic goals.

  • Liaise with external vendors, speakers, and HCPs to build strong, productive relationships.

Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Conduct post-event evaluations to measure success and gather feedback.

  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices for future events.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in corporate event planning, preferably within the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Strong knowledge of HCP compliance regulations, including the Sunshine Act and related reporting requirements preferred.

  • Experience managing budgets and negotiating vendor contracts.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.

  • Proficiency in event management platforms and virtual event technologies.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Certification in Meeting Planning (CMP) or Healthcare Meeting Compliance (HMCC) is a plus.
