SEAGATE TECHNOLOGY (NRM) Facilities Mechanical Maintenance Tech - Engineering Specialist IV - A Shift in Bloomington, Minnesota

About our group: Seagate MNC is searching for a facilities Mechanical Maintenance Technician. This technician operates and maintains building equipment and supports general facilities operations. This position reports to the Facilities Mechanical Services Maintenance Manager and will support Seagate's Bloomington, MN operations - a 700,000+ square foot, highly technical facility, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. About the role - you will: Perform preventative maintenance, inspection, repair, and installation of equipment, plumbing, pumps, and motors. Perform preventative maintenance, repair and installation of compressors, motors, & pumps. * Operate and perform preventative maintenance on outdoor equipment including tractor, bobcat, and support equipment. Use building automation system (JCI) to monitor, report and troubleshoot building system faults and respond appropriately to alarms. Perform minor plumbing repairs. Perform painting and minor construction work. Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Respond to emergency calls related to equipment failure, spills, and leaks. Perform miscellaneous department-related duties as assigned including possible safety inspections and building grounds work. Coordinate with lead, management, project managers, engineers, contractors and other personnel in order to understand and effectively complete assigned work. Adhere to all environmental and safety rules and regulations. Be a member of the site Emergency Response Team (ERT). This is a A Shift Position - 11.5 hours - Weekdays (Monday-Wednesday and every other Thursday). 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM. About you: Industrial mechanic training or 2 years' experience or equivalent training in operation, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment. Perform preventive maintenance as required. Disassemble and diagnose mechanical failures and preform the necessary repairs. Work independently with minimal supervision. Work at heights and lift 50 lbs. Ability to identify and recognize the difference between low and high voltage. Strong customer service skills. Possess strong skills in organizing, executing, and documenting work. Attention to detail and ability to follow processes. Effective written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills in order to work closely with site management, engineering, staff and others. Able to respond to emergency calls, work a 12-hour shift, work occasional overtime, and work occasional holidays as required. Your experience includes: Johnson Controls Experience, desirable. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Experience with Microsoft Office. Associate degree Industrial Mechanics or similar from a Technical College. Location: Our Normandale campus spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington, and serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate.
