Cook Medical COOK Medical Summer 2025 R&D Engineering Co-op in Bloomington, Indiana

Overview

The Summer Engineering C o -O p is a paid co-op experience located in Bloomington, IN . We offer a 12-week rotation in Research and Development Engineering and have multiple positions open across our R&D teams . This position includes a housing stipend , 401(k), fitness center access, learning events, capston e presentation, and more . All C o -O p positions are assigned a direct mentor and each position provide s real-world experience with meaningful projects in the medical device manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize engineering knowledge to p roduce project deliverables / documents

  • Adhere to the Quality Management System (QMS) and its processes to meet FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory requirements

  • Must maintain all training requirements for the position, while seeking out opportunities for continuous development and growth

  • Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization

  • Must strictly adhere to safety requirements

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance

  • Must maintain company quality and quantity standards

  • Must have effective communication skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision

  • Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations

Qualifications

  • College or University Junior or Senior preferred working towards a bachelor's degree in Engineering (Graduate students also considered)

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • M ust provide proof of enrollment in an accredited college or university

    Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States without any need for current or future visa sponsorship. Cook does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this temporary position and will not consider candidates that have a future sponsorship need.

    Physical Requirements:

  • On-site and hybrid positions that work under general office environmental conditions

  • Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.

  • Personal protective equipment including safety glasses, lab coat and gloves may be required in some areas associated with this position

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA.
