The F5 Load Balancer Senior Advisor (Infrastructure Engineering Senior Advisor will be responsible for the continuous operation and engineering of Cigna's enterprise network, specifically centered on application load balancing related to F5 technologies.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide tier II/tier III support for network load balancing systems and infrastructure.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in supporting F5 load balancers with BIG-IP LTM and GTM technologies.

  • Coordination with application owners in support of new changes and modification to existing applications and services, as related to F5 configurations.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnosis advanced F5 hardware and software issues.

  • Operate and improve services in accordance with business needs, priorities and SLAs.

  • Participate on Lifecycle activities such as, OS upgrades and hardware refresh.

  • Work with internal teams to provide solutions for identified system vulnerabilities.

  • Drive process improvements and procedures that will improve overall Security Service Delivery to the customer.

  • Ensure uniformity of security service delivery and attainment of all business and customer objectives.

  • Provide periodic performance reports for review with management providing input on improvements and quality initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Balancing technologies and general LAN/WAN networking, or its equivalent in education and work experience.

  • Prior experience with a large enterprise network, preferably in the healthcare sector.

  • Hands-on experience with F5 load balancers and knowledge of load balancing technologies.

  • Understanding of different F5 device types, physical and virtual.

  • Experience with PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) relating to the implementation and management of SSL certificates.

  • Experience with automation/scripting (Python, PHP, MySQL, Ansible)

  • Knowledge of security protocols and implementations including NAT and ACLs.

  • Experience in the use of multiple network tools such as Syslog, Splunk, SevOne, HPNA, and TCPDump for network troubleshooting.

  • Participate in on-call rotation for 365x7x24 support.

  • Well versed in crisis management and root cause analysis techniques.

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

  • Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.

  • Experience with prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.

  • Experience with present ideas in a user-friendly language.

  • Highly self-motivated and directed.

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Strong customer service orientation.
