Job Duties and Skills
Description
The Spanish Teacher duties will include the following:
1.
Implementing instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students with varying backgrounds, learning styles and special needs are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
2.
Assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
3.
Ensuring that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
4.
Encouraging and monitoring the progress of individual students, providing appropriate feedback on work on a consistent and timely basis.
5.
Communicating necessary information regularly to students, providing appropriate feedback on student progress and student needs.Assign, grades, and returns class work, homework, test, and assignments.
6.
Observes, evaluates, and maintains student records regarding performance and development.
7.
Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships, modeling professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, members of the community, and the School Operating Committee.
8.
Collaborates with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
9.
Attends professional development each year.
10.
Upholds the mission and values of Elizabeth Seton in all student treatment.
11.
Performs other responsibilities related to the position as assigned by the President.
12.
Maintains needed records regarding student progress.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in education, education psychology, or related area. Fluency in Spanish demonstrated by being a native Spanish speaker, or eligible for a Maryland conditional certification in Spanish.
