Guest Services Development Team Coach - Giants Ridge in Biwabik, Minnesota

Compensation Amount: Job Summary: The Development Team Coach works with groups of young athletes to introduce them to the world of alpine skiing competition by developing a strong foundation for safety, learning, sportsmanship, and competition in a fun team environment. Job Description: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Upholds the highest level of athlete safety on varied terrain with changing conditions. * Ability to work with young athletes to develop their technique, race strategy and long-term goal setting. * Willing and able to travel to Northland Junior Race Series (NJRS) races. * Ensures that any courses and practice areas are prepped and ready prior to practice time. * Takes athletes through courses during course inspection. * Ensure athletes are on time for their runs. * Attends awards sessions, and collects awards for students who are not present. * Other duties as assigned. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS * Must be at least 18 years of age by beginning of employment. * Experience in alpine ski racing/training. * Alpine coaching experience (preferred but not required). * Ability to organize, direct and lead a group of young athletes. * Demonstrated ability to interact with a wide variety of people. * Ability to effectively organize and coordinate multiple priorities. * Ability to learn and develop new skills. * Ability to problem solve. * Strong guest service skills. * Strong communications skills, written and verbal. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS * Ability to lift, carry and push up to 50lbs. * Ability to stand in ski equipment for long periods of time. * Ability to withstand cold and wet weather for long periods of time. * Speech recognition and clarity, including ability to understand the speech of guests and co-workers, the ability to speak clearly so that guest and co-workers can understand you. * Physical presence at job site is essential to perform job duties.
