Position Title: Student Intern - Financial Services (Commodity Risk) (Summer 2025)

Position Purpose:

This temporary position will assist the Commodity Risk area with managing cash margin and prepayment requests, reviewing daily trade capture system price imports, assembling and distributing risk reports, counterparty credit analysis, review and approval of commodity trades.

Essential Functions:

  • Review daily cash margin and prepayment requests, seek appropriate approvals, confirm with counterparty or communicate any disputes, and process for payment.

  • Review daily price imports and coordinate corrections if needed.

  • Assemble and distribute various credit reports and other risk reports as needed.

  • Assist with the assembly of information for and documentation of counterparty credit analysis.

  • Monitor for new commodity trades entered into the trade capture system, review them for accuracy and completeness, and process for approval or follow-up with trader for corrections.

  • Work with the manager and staff members of Commodity Risk area to enhance commodity profit and loss monitoring and reporting.

Qualifications :

  • Enrolled as a full-time student in a four-year accounting, business, or finance related field with the completion of sophomore year.

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • A minimum of a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) is preferred.

  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient with personal computers and Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Resume required.

Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:

This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position and to move about the office building, occasional reaching below and above shoulder level, constant use of keyboard/computer and other office productivity machinery, bending, kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. It also requires finger dexterity and hand coordination. This position requires the ability to communicate and must be able to clearly exchange accurate information. It also requires the ability to develop plans, procedures and goals; present information to others; and work under stress to complete projects within deadlines.

Wage : $23 per hour
