POSITION OVERVIEW:

This internship is designed to provide on-the-job training for future full-time opportunities in water maintenance. Through this part-time learning and training opportunity, Water Treatment Operator Interns will gain the necessary knowledge and practice skills required to pass the Grade IV exam and become a full-time Operator I Trainee. Participants must pass the Grave IV exam within 18 months of accepting the Water Treatment Operator Intern position.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist, observe and perform duties as directed by the filter plant Senior/Chief Operator, designated operator or Maintenance Supervisor. Learn how to perform laboratory control tests, collect distribution system data, and observe preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment. Prepare for the Grade IV Water Treatment Plant Certification through self-study and attendance in any assigned courses.
