Description Robert Half currently has an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Technical Writer with a company in the Utilities/Infrastructure industry! We are looking for a candidate with the requisite skills talent to take on this exciting new career opportunity. The long-term contract / contract / temporary to permanent Project Assistant role will be based in Birmingham, Alabama.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Aid project teams by providing administrative, technical and clerical support

  • Documenting meetings and keeping records of assignments and progress

  • Making travel arrangements and finding accommodations for training seminars, conferences and additional project-related events

  • Requesting information needed to fill in incomplete documents

  • Ensuring key partners receive project information

  • Analyzing information, preparing reports, proofreading and editing documents, and developing presentations

  • Providing support to Project Managers by organizing team meetings and communication per project specifications in order to maintain project deliverable schedules

  • Utilizing online research tools to find information Requirements - Microsoft Project, JIRA, Mavenlink, and NetSuite experience is preferred

    • This position requires a high school diploma or its equivalent, though a BA/BS degree in business, communications, or related field is preferred

    • Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request

    • Proven knowledge of OneDrive

    • General familiarity with presentation preparation

    • Good understanding of Detailed Technical Specification

    • Practical knowledge of Presentations

    • Well-founded grasp of Powerpoint Presentation

    • Microsoft Outlook experience

    • Previous experience working with technical writing

    • Quality experience with customer meetings

    • Microsoft PowerPoint experience preferred

    • Microsoft Office Suites experience preferred

    • Experience with Microsoft Teams

    • Earlier work involving curriculum development

    • SharePoint experience

    • Wide ranging experience with business analysis

    • Be detailed, flexible, and organized

    • 1 year of experience in a business/office setting required

  • Demonstrated abilities with the Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

    • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

    • Highly skilled at database and file management
