Guidehouse Patient Account Representative- Clinical Trials in BIRMINGHAM, Alabama

What You Will Do :

Under moderate supervision, the Patient Account Representative performs diverse duties related to the processing of patient accounting transactions within Patient Financial Services. This includes, but is not limited to the following: maintaining, auditing and processing charge tickets and insurance claims; data entry of changes, payments and adjustments; assisting patients with patient plans and other accounting related issues; preparing various reports; contacting third part payer about account- related issues; preparing and submitting bills for payment; and reconciling credit balance accounts in a timely manner. In addition, receives and responds to account inquiries by patient and other entities via email, fax or telephone communication. This position will be working un-coded grants and institutional accounts related to clinical trial billing.

  • Reconciles all accounts in a timely manner and meets department productivity and quality review standards by contacting third party payers and following up with patients on past due claims.

  • Reviews bills and insurance claims to third party payors and evaluates for accuracy.

What You Will Need :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Previous related work experience

  • Working knowledge of medical billing

  • Knowledge of medical billing terminology

What Would Be Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of Health Quest, Metric, SIS, MS Outlook
