Role/Responsibilities

Purpose of Position:

The Facilities Maintenance Team within the Maintenance Department is fully responsible for the upkeep of the entire building, its related equipment (including but not limited to: compressors; chillers; HVAC; sub-stations; etc) and the surrounding grounds. The Facilities Maintenance Team supports installation and modifications as directed from time to time.

The Facilities Maintenance Team is responsible for the construction, operation, and maintenance of all buildings, grounds, utility systems, and industrial wastewater plant at the Kamtek Casting campus. In addition, it provides many services as required to support production and non-production departments.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for assisting in maintaining all aspects of equipment throughout the Facility Maintenance Teams area of responsibility. The Utility employee will perform a variety of maintenance activities such as repairs on buildings, grounds and equipment, preventive maintenance and the upkeep of themselves. Responsible to ensure that all Customer, People, and Investor goals are balanced and met for the assigned duties and responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1) 1) Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies.

2) Understand and promote Magna’s philosophies (Magna Operational Principles, Corporate Constitution and Employee’s Charter).

3) Follow and comply with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the employee Environmental Health and Safety programs (Magna and OSHA Standards).

4) Follow and comply with all safety standards including LOTO

5) Assist in making repairs on buildings, vehicles, furniture and equipment, plumbing, electrical and shelving

6) Assist in all Areas such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Alarm System etc.

a. Plumbing repairs: drains, flush valves, fixtures

b. Lighting repairs: lamp replacement, fixture repair or replacement

c. HVAC maintenance: filters, belts, lubrication

d. Mechanical maintenance and repairs: shipping docks, roll up doors, , Guardrail’s, Fencing and man doors

e. 5S: shops, mechanical and electrical rooms, grounds

f. Equipment inspections

g. Painting and floor striping

h. Floor and concrete repair

7) Use cement floor grinder to grind up old lines then tape and paint new lines on the floor

8) Assist any member of Facility Maintenance Team in whatever tasks have been given to them (Hanging boards, signs, lock boxes, clocks etc)

9) Support office personnel requests for service such as furniture install and moving, mounting boards and displays on walls, ceiling tile replacement, etc...

10) Paint with brush, roller or spray machine and maintain paint machine

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

11) Paint, sand, scrub, clean, trash removal as needed to maintain the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the facility

12) Assist other facility department personnel in routine and emergency tasks.

13) Set up physical arrangements in meeting rooms as requested

14) Perform preventative maintenance tasks as required

15) Perform equipment checks on facility equipment

16) Replace lights, ballasts and ceiling tiles as needed

17) Maintain shop facilities in neat and orderly manner including sweeping, mopping or use of the floor scrubber

18) Load vehicles with forklift, operate boom and ladder lifts

19) Use computerized or manual Maintenance Information Systems to document the details of equipment related issues, repairs made, Preventative and Predictive Maintenance measures taken, etc.

20) Keep equipment rooms and cabinets clean and free of debris

21) Drill, tap, cut

22) Core drill holes in cement. Cement bollards in place using either a cement mixer or wheelbarrow.

23) Demonstrates attention to detail

24) Responds well to questions and participates in meetings

25) Understands and comprehends both the metric and standard measurement systems.

26) Can identify and properly utilize common hand and power tools

27) Accurately follows written and verbal directions

28) Self-motivated and can handle multiple projects and priorities

29) Flexible to work any shift required to get tasks completed and willing to work occasional extended hours and weekends as necessary

30) Must be able to work independently and with others to complete tasks

31) Must be able to manage time to accomplish multiple assigned tasks by the expected due date and time

32) Promotes good housekeeping (5S)

33) Perform other maintenance activities as required.

Skills/Education/knowledge

SKILL (Ability to do the job)

  • Willingness to work extended or flexible hours as required to meet production demands

  • Basic product knowledge regarding automotive Class-A stampings and assemblies

  • Maintenance skills

  • Understanding of customer requirements

  • Ability to work in stressful situations

  • Must be willing to work in various locations within and outside the facility

  • Knowledge of hydraulics

  • Knowledge of pneumatics

  • Knowledge of basic plumbing

  • Knowledge of industrial electricity

  • Knowledge of basic HVAC

  • Mechanics Background

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• May be required to lift up to 75lbs. occasionally

KNOWLEDGE­­­­­­

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required

TECHNICAL TRAINING: Must be able to achieve certification to operate fork trucks, various types of man lifts, scissor lifts. Must be willing to operate floor scrubbers, floor sweepers, core drills, pressure washers, etc…

OTHER: Understanding of plant grounds maintenance and working knowledge of industrial manufacturing

WORK EXPERIENCE

WHAT TYPES? Commercial facility maintenance experience preferred or equivalent industrial or construction experience

HOW MUCH? 1-2 years of work experience in an industrial setting performing similar tasks, 6 months of experience in industrial facility maintenance
