Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in BIRMINGHAM, Alabama. The role focuses on accounts payable, invoice processing, and billing in the context of a part-time employment opportunity. This position will be working within a dynamic environment that values efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process and enter invoices with a high level of accuracy.

• Proactively track past due balances and take appropriate action.

• Handle the acquisition of invoices from statements to ensure financial accuracy.

• Manage the process of cutting checks to vendors and suppliers.

• Oversee the closing out of the month, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded.

• Prepare 1099s for contract employees at the end of the fiscal year.

• Conduct light billing tasks, including sharing utilities with the day school and billing accordingly.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for managing and organizing data, no need for pivot tables or advanced formulas.

• Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operation of accounts payable functions.

• Utilize industry-specific software for tracking and managing accounts payable functions. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes

• Experience with Invoice Processing

• Familiarity with Billing procedures

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively

• High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information

• Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous

• Familiarity with accounting software would be a plus

• Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles

• Ability to meet tight deadlines

• High school degree; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field would be a plus.
