Overview

United Health Services is committed to the care of our patients with behavioral health issues. This Peer Support position is in the Methadone Maintenance Clinic. The clinic is located in United Health Services Summit Building, directly across the street from Binghamton General Hospital. The ideal candidate will have lived experience with addiction and prior experience Peer Counseling. UHS's Peer Support Specialist provides peer support, information, and advocacy to individuals diagnosed with a serious and persistent relevant illness, in order to assist them in regaining control over their own lives and recovery process and integrating into the community. They engage with patients hospitalized at UHS Hospitals.

Hours: Monday through Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Saturday 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM

This is a benefits eligible position.

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

• HS Diploma or equivalent

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

• Peer Support Specialist Certification or obtain certification within twenty four (24) months of hire
