Description

Medical Liaison

Full Time, Monday - Friday

Wage: $17.00-$18.25 / hr

TheMedical Liaisonenhances the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities by attending medical appointments, and sharing information with medical professionals and needed staff, individuals served, their families and stakeholders. This position’s specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited:

  • Provide supervision to individuals served when providing direct service to ensure their health and safety per agency policies and procedures

  • Transport individuals served to medical appointments and provided medical and other pertinent history to medical practitioners

  • Provide information obtained from medical practitioners to supervisor, staff, individuals served, families and stakeholders as needed or requested

  • Provide assistance with medical duties as assigned

  • Administer medications and other related services as prescribed and under the clinical supervision of a Registered Nurse

  • Provide assistance to Program Managers and residential staff in developing and improving independent living skills, as available and needed

  • Provide assistance to individuals to assist with independence in personal care skills. as available and needed

  • Provide supervision to individuals at residence for staff ratios and safety in line of vision for individuals (IPOPs) as available and needed

  • Transportation as needed in community to appointments, habilitation, recreation as available and needed

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess good interpersonal, written, oral, and communication abilities and effective time management/organizational skills

  • Able to work scheduled hours that may include overtime, weekend and/or holiday timeframes and maintain an acceptable work attendance as defined in the agency’s Employee Policy Manual

  • Be computer literate with knowledge in agency operating systems and applicable software required for department needs.

  • Demonstrate sound judgment in normal work and emergency situations

  • Must physically be able to perform required certifications and lift fifty (50) pounds

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with knowledge of the medical field and experience working with the OPWDD population preferred

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets the agency’s insurance carrier guidelines

Salary Description

$17.00-18.25
