Crime Victims Assistance Center HR/Payroll Specialist in Binghamton, New York

<p>The HR/Payroll Specialist will process payroll, handle benefits administration, HR compliance, staff training and development, recruiting and on-boarding staff.

<p>Duties and responsibilities <p>Payroll <li>Enter and maintain employee information and process payroll on a bi-weekly basis in agency payroll system, Paycom. <li>Process payroll deductions for items such as health insurance, voluntary benefits, dental, etc. with assistance from benefits administrator. <li>Process employee reimbursement for expenses and travel through Paycom. <li>Process retirement contributions through employee retirement accounts. <li>Assist CFO with agency audit with payroll related documentation. <li>Maintain employee pay rate documentation and other payroll related files. <p> HR Ensure the company complies with legal requirements related to employment, such as labor laws, workplace safety, and equal opportunity regulations. <li>Assist the CFO with establishing and interpreting employment policies. <li>Onboard new employees, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is complete and compliant with company procedures and state and federal laws. <li>Post job openings, review resumes, conduct interviews, and assist with hiring decisions. <li>Work with existing staff to train and develop them for higher positions within the agency and for compliance with funder guidelines. <li>Serve as a resource for employees, addressing questions related to policies, benefits, and workplace issues. <li>Collaborate with all supervisors to provide necessary tools for coaching and guiding staff. <li>Preform all day-to-day HR administrative tasks; ensuring that all employee and HR records are accurate and up to date. <li>Support the development and process for performance reviews. <p>Bachelor's degree in human resources, psychology, business administration with a focus in HR or a related discipline with 5 years of experience preferred. <p>Associates degree plus 10 years related experience will be considered. <p>Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. <li>Reliable transportation and drivers license required. <li>Experience working with volunteers and/or non-profits preferred. <p>Must complete 40-hour rape crisis counselor training and an additional ten hours of ongoing, professional education each subsequent calendar year.
