Budget Title: Staff Assistant (SL-2)

Salary: $47,261 - $52,000

Binghamton University is looking for a full time Assistant Financial Analyst to join our Finance team, which is a part of Facilities Management. The Finance Office seeks a self-motivated individual with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. This position involves working efficiently in a customer orientated environment, subject to frequent changing of priorities.

This position will work with all funding sources and accounts utilized within Facilities Management. This position will participate with purchasing, accounts payable, updating our employee labor distribution, as well as the tracking and billing of Dorm Damage. This includes but is not limited to ascertaining accuracy of purchase requisitions (following NYS purchasing guidelines - i.e. MWBE requirements), receipting purchases, verifying funding of purchases, assigning general ledger accounts to employee labor records as well as purchase orders and work orders, etc.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Math or a related field

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a financial office setting

  • Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Adaptable and flexible when dealing with the unexpected and ever changing workflow

  • Attention to detail and can work with accuracy and thoroughness

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience in working with computerized financial systems

  • Experience in working with maintenance management systems

  • Experience in working with NYS financial system and accounting structure
