What will you do as a Production Sanitizer?

As a part of the Production Team, the Production Sanitizer is responsible for sanitizing various equipment within designated work area

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clean interior and exterior of processing and manufacturing equipment.

  • Prepare sanitation chemicals and equipment.

  • Test cleaning chemicals and ensure proper strength.

  • Ensure all necessary caps are in proper locations.

  • Set up equipment in preparation for use by manually lifting and moving equipment and/or chemicals

  • Assess and rectify problems on all equipment

  • Maintain chemical inventory.

  • Adhere to good manufacturing practices and safety standards.

  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and processes.

  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  • 0 - 3 general work experience required.

  • Experience working in food production or manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Ability to operate various equipment

  • Ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets

  • Forklift certification is a plus.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Continuing education to maintain certification and a current working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to lift 50-60 lbs.

  • Intermittent physical activity including bending, twisting, reaching, and prolonged periods of standing.

  • Exposure to high noise levels and fast-moving equipment.

  • Working hours vary daily and include overtime and occasional weekends.

  • Work involves walking, talking and hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to focus when using computer terminal or working on small components.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time while working on equipment.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)

  • Hearing protection dependent on specified areas.

  • Face shield and gloves mandatory with use of chemicals and CO2.

  • Hair nets if working on open container end of the lines.

  • Chemically treated garments as required in use of chemicals

  • Respiratory protection as required with use of chemicals

  • Steel/ceramic toed shoes with non-slip soles.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The noise level in the work environment can be moderately noisy due to manufacturing and/or warehousing equipment in operation.

  • Some areas are slippery due to the production process.

  • Warehouse area has heavy forklift travel.
