If providing hope and healing through compassionate, innovative, and individualized care interest you, we welcome your application for the position below.Administrative Asst II Health Information Management Technician will organize and manage health information data by ensuring that it maintains its quality, accuracy, accessibility, and security in both paper files and electronic systems. Key tasks include knowledge of applicable regulatory guidelines as well as system policy and procedure; admission and discharge audit medical records to track documentation completion; compilation and dissemination of due/delinquent list; filing and organization of paper and electronic files and log timely and accurately; protect patientsand#146; health information for confidentiality, authorized access for treatment, and data security per local and HIPAA regulations; able to effectively communicate in a professional manner with multiple disciplines at BSSH and external entities; accurate and timely completion of releases of information; provision of customer service support. Assist with evaluation and revision of departmental processes as needed for continual quality improvement. Provide assistance upon request with miscellaneous tasks and projects.Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency policy and performs other duties as assigned.Follow Texas Administrative Code, Health and Safety Code, and other standards as applicable as they pertain to patient medical records. Adheres to SHS policies and procedures in regard to medical records.Audit of patient medical records at admission and discharge to accurately track documentation completion as required. Compilation and dissemination of due/delinquent report to staff.Organization of paper and electronic records, files and logs in an accurate and timely manner.
