Knife River Care Center Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) in Beulah, North Dakota

Responsible for all aspects of the dietary department assuring quality, sanitation, cost effectiveness (minimal food waste or over preparation of food), nutritional adequacy in all areas of production. Supervises and directs employees who prepare and serve meals; this includes supervision and instruction in maintaining standards of sanitation, housekeeping and safety, and in operation and care of equipment. Is responsible for all areas of the food operation. Conducts resident reviews, participating in scheduled interdepartmental care conferences, revising and updating plans of care for all residents. Essential Functions, Roles, and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the nutritional assessment for all new residents, obtaining preferences and needs as appropriate.
  • Updates dietary lists and work schedules, assuring proper work flow in dietary work areas.
  • Supervise meal preparation and meal service to ensure proper procedures and safety and sanitation regulations are being followed. Observes resident dining experience regularly.
  • Orders, receives deliveries and checks receipts against specifications and orders. Responsible for maintaining inventory as needed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of dietary policies and procedures.
  • Assists dietician in revising menus as necessary.
  • Assists staff with workload and picks up shifts as needed in dietary.
  • Facilitates dietary portion at care conferences, updating care plans, assuring adequate nutritional status for residents on a regular basis and as needed.
  • Completes staff schedule, utilizing scheduling software.
  • Responsible for budgeting of dietary staff; hiring, evaluations, discipline, scheduling.
  • Responsible for budgeting and purchasing of food, equipment, supplements, supplies.
  • Assist in the development, review of and review of dietary job descriptions and evaluations.
  • Coordinates in-services and all staff training for the dietary department.
  • Demonstrates the willingness to be a Team Player. Works in cooperation with and promotes positive relations between co-workers and other departments.
  • Maintains CDM and has current CDM certification proof.
