Assistant Director of Speech and Debate Team – HS (.5 Position)Stipend = $2,051 (2023-24 school year)

Bettendorf is looking for an Assistant Director of Speech and Debate (.5 Position) with experience in any/all National Speech and Debate Association events and who is available on weekends and weekday evenings. Bettendorf High School has a long-running Speech and Debate Program, dating back to April 18th, 1968. Currently, Bettendorf High School has a program of approximately 30 students, ranging from 9th grade to 12th grade. Students regularly attend and place in some of the most prestigious speech/debate competitions, such as the Mid-America Cup, Iowa Caucus, MinneApple Tournament, Glenbrooks Invitational, and the Dowling Paradigm. The Bettendorf program has qualified to attend the National Speech and Debate Association’s National Tournament every year since 2000. Recently, Bettendorf has placed 22nd in Lincoln-Douglas Debate in 2014, 16th in Public Forum Debate in 2015, and 5th in Extemporaneous Debate.
