St. Luke's University Health Network Patient Access Supervisor, Bethlehem Campus in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

The Registration Supervisor is responsible for daily operations of Patient Access Services, which includes Outpatient Registration, Emergency Department Registration, and Front Desk functions. Provides superior quality, competitive value and outstanding service by managing patient expectations. Monitors quality and integrity of all registration functions, ensuring that exceptional customer service is provided. Responsible for achieving department and network goals, ensuring accuracy of all demographic and financial information and focusing on point of service cash collection.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Sets policy and procedures for department activities and ensures that the department operates in accordance with them.

  • Develops departmental budget projecting staffing and equipment needs.

  • Hires, trains and reviews performance of staff.

  • Prepares work schedules and assigns duties.

  • Ensures that staff is informed of changes in hospital policies and procedures so that staff is able to gather necessary patient information, medical, financial information and process admissions and registrations accurately and effectively.

  • Responsible for coordinating the training and continuous education of all registration clerks.

  • Sets department goals consistent with the hospital’s strategic plan and management philosophy and monitors progress toward them.

  • Communicates with physicians and their staff to keep them informed of current Admission procedures.

  • Responsible for keying of charges for Cardiac Rehabilitation.

  • Follows-up with patient inquiries as they relate to billing.

  • Involved in the planning of remodeling any admitting areas.

  • Completes bi-weekly payroll.

PHYSICIAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting for up to 2 hours per day for 2 hours at a time. Stand for up to 1 hour per day, 10 minutes at a time. Walk for up to 2 hours per day, 10 minutes at a time. Continually use fingers and hands to manipulate objects. Frequently lift or carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Frequently stoop and bend at the waist. Must be able to see as it relates to general near and far vision.

EDUCATION:

Associate degree in the medical field preferred.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Supervisory experience, hospital or health care experience.
