Job Title: Corporate/Compliance Paralegal

Job Location(s): Bethesda, MD (hybrid schedule)

We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and seasoned paralegal with a background in corporate transactions to join our client's legal and compliance team. As a paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting portfolio management, compliance, and legal department operations by leveraging your expertise in corporate structures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your experience in loan closings or corporate transactions to analyze corporate structures efficiently.

  • Manage KYC and AML processes, policies, and procedures

  • Ability to dissect corporate organizational charts to determine necessary documentation, adhering to checklists.

  • Demonstrate exceptional self-motivation and a strong work ethic.

  • Collaborate effectively with various departments within the company and external third parties, leveraging strong interpersonal skills.

  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously with efficiency.

  • Opportunity for growth to explore other areas within Compliance, such as privacy regulations and regulatory requirements set forth by the SEC.

  • Familiarity with regulatory matters such as the Advisors Act of 1940 and Form ADV is beneficial.

  • Proficiency in IT platforms, with an aptitude for learning new systems quickly, is desirable.

  • Fulfill other duties as assigned or required.

    Requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in corporate transactional paralegal work, preferably within an in-house legal department or a law firm specializing in real estate or corporate transactions.

  • Familiarity with KYC and AML processes, policies, and procedures is advantageous.

  • Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills, coupled with strong "people skills."

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on collaboration over personal agendas.

  • Capability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with prompt response times.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to work autonomously without administrative support.
