JOB SUMMARY
The Executive Protection Officer plays a vital part in the delivery of the Marriott International Executive Protection Program. Potential candidates will need to demonstrate high levels of professionalism and strike the balance between security and discretion. While the primary objective is to ensure the safety of company VIP's, it is equally important to do so with minimal intrusion into their personal and professional lives. They must be highly presentable, adaptable and have good communication skills. Candidates need the ability to operate in a changing threat environment and conduct dynamic risk assessments whilst under pressure. The individual needs to be comfortable working to a schedule that is likely to change at short notice, involve weekend work as well as extended working hours in the day. The role will also extend into journey management planning and the continued development of the program. Although the candidate shall primarily operate in USA and Canada, foreign travel is likely.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required
Minimum of 7 years tactical experience in law enforcement, military, or private security.
Willingness to work irregular hours and travel at short notice for extended periods including over weekends.
Strong situational awareness and quick decision-making skills (dynamic risk assessment).
Excellent physical fitness and self-defense capabilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
High level of discretion and professionalism.
Strong understanding of surveillance and counter surveillance operations.
Previous executive protection experience in a law enforcement or government institution or up to date certification in close protection from a recognized institution.
Advanced driver accreditation and evasive driver training.
Valid license for carrying and handling firearms; only to be used in the extremis (note this is not an armed role).
Up to date CPR and first aid certification.
Knowledge of local laws and regulations regarding personal protection and firearms.
Working knowledge of security technologies (radio communications, tracking hardware and software, cameras etc.).
Intermediate to high levels of computer literacy and demonstrate competence in using all the key MS O365 tools.
Proven ability to create innovative solutions and build relationships independently, without hands-on supervision.
Preferred
International experience with an awareness of cultural sensitivities and etiquette.
Working knowledge of Technical Surveillance Counter Measures.
Multilingual – Spanish speaker
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Provision of close protection services to Senior Executives as directed by the Senior Manager Executive Protection.
Provide ground transportation services to Senior Executives as directed.
Support executive travel planning and coordination, including conducting advance preparation/sweeps and managing on the ground security detail.
Coordinate with third party Executive Protection services.
Support day-to-day Executive Protection needs while VIP leaders are in BAU locations, coordinating with on-site security teams and executive teams.
Partner with VP, Global Safety & Security, and the Executive Protection team, to facilitate Executive Protection and Threat Intelligence SOP development and standard setting both internally and with third party providers.
Manage Board of Directors pre-event planning and preparation.
Liaise with local law enforcement in advance of key events attended by company VIPs.
Train and develop second line Executive Protection Officers.
Screen incoming parcels addressed to Senior Executives.
Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Executive Protection specific equipment.
The salary range for this position is $108,300 to $158,400 annually.
