Associate Scientist - Modeling and Meta-Analysis
Job Summary
Our Associate Scientist is an essential contributor to our Modeling & Meta-Analysis team, and responsible for providing a strong scientific perspective and contributing to a variety of HEOR studies, specifically health economic modeling and evidence synthesis. They enjoy supporting senior team members on conducting analyses, managing projects and identifying new business opportunities. They are proactive, responsive, and able to balance shifting priorities to ensure promises are kept and expectations are exceeded. They have shown established experience in health economic modeling and evidence synthesis.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Demonstrate understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and medical affairs
Design and construct health economic models (i.e., budget impact models, cost-effectiveness models) from scratch under guidance of senior team members
Performs targeted literature reviews to identify and summarize model inputs and methodology used in previous health technology assessments
Conduct relevant data analyses (i.e. survival analyses, meta-analysis) to support model development under minimum guidance of senior team members
Draft key study documents including study protocols, analysis plans, technical reports under guidance of senior team members with mythological/subject matter expertise
Assists with the delivery of components of projects by collaborating with other staff members to ensure high quality outputs
Helps ensure timely delivery of project subcomponents by flagging changes to estimates of required hours
Drafts update slides for regular client update meetings under guidance from senior team members with methodological/subject matter expertise
If necessary, drafts minutes and actions from project update meetings
Communicates with clients on calls and sometimes supports senior team members in responding to emails
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
Master’s Degree or PhD in relevant Science, Engineering, Epidemiology, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Public Health or Medical Field is required
Minimum of 1 year experience in economic modelling and/or meta-analysis with a consulting company or pharmaceutical company preferred
Design and implementation of cost-effectiveness, budget impact analyses, meta-analysis, or another mathematical modelling
Experience with programming languages (VBA, R, SAS or Stata)
Strong analytical and organizational skills that include the ability to prepare and present relevant summaries of complex materials
Good presentation skills and the ability to present complex information to non-technical audiences
Ability to handle multiple projects successfully with scientific rigor
Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a diverse team
Proactive, responsive, and able to balance shifting priorities and ensuring that promises are kept and expectations are exceeded
Foreign language proficiency is a plus
Full proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Travel Requirements
- 10% potential global travel
