Job Title: General Laborer / Machine Operator Trainee

Job Description

We are currently hiring for a general laborer to train into a machine operator role. The ideal candidate will assist in the repairs of machinery and buildings, perform preventative maintenance services, conduct inspections for safe and proper operation of all machinery in accordance with OSHA standards, and help to keep the production area clean and orderly. This role requires candidates to bend, twist, regularly lift up to 50 lbs, and be on their feet for 8+ hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the repairs of machinery and buildings

• Perform preventative maintenance services

• Conduct inspections for safe and proper operation of all machinery in accordance with OSHA standards

• Help keep the production area clean and orderly

• Perform general laborer duties as needed

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform basic math functions including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing

• Accurately read a tape measure

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for 8+ hours

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous production experience is a plus

Work Environment

The production facility is a sheet metal structure that can get very cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The team consists of approximately 15 people and is growing due to recent expansions and added production machines. The shift is from 6am to 2:30pm, with the possibility of working 60 hours a week during peak seasons. Rebar is used in reinforced concrete structures to provide strength and tension, making this a vital role in the production of bridges, highways, and other structures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.50/hr.
