Boeing’s Government Training Engineering (GTE) team is looking for a Chief Engineer & Senior Manager for our St Louis, MO location to support a variety of rotorcraft platforms in our Vertical Lift portfolio. This role includes oversight of the execution of all efforts in support of Aircrew and Maintenance training for the AH-64 (Apache) and AH-6 (Little Bird) platforms.

This position will report to the GTE Director of Engineering Integration & Systems, but will work closely with program managers across the BGS-Government Leadership team. A successful candidate will have familiarity with developing and delivering advanced training devices, managing multi-disciplinary, multi-site teams, technical planning, and cost/schedule management.

As a Chief Engineer in Government Training, the successful candidate will hold RAA (responsibility, accountability, and authority) to complete all training segment statement of work and deliverables for the program.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Execution Leader for the Training Segment Statement of Work

  • Management of the Principal Engineers & Product Managers assigned to the platform

  • Responsible for the technical integrity & safety of the training products & services

  • Ensure cross-functional team performance & on-time delivery within allocated budgets

  • Primary Customer Liaison for technical performance, design decision, & resolution of technical issues in the Training segment

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • ABET Accredited Engineering Degree or a STEM Degree aligned to the type and number of years of experience/education required to perform the job in industry and relevant to the work performed in the business unit responsibilities described in this posting.

  • 3+ years of experience with military airborne, ground, and/or training systems OR 3+ years of experience developing courseware

  • 1+ years of experience working with SAFe or Agile methodologies

  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing Military projects and/or teams

  • Experience building relationships and partnering with customers and all levels of employees, including executives.

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically 15% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years experience in a role that required building cross-functional consensus among internal and external stakeholders to drive business results.

  • 3+ years of experience with agile, SAFe or other workflow management best practices

  • 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with stakeholders (i.e. customers, suppliers, peers and/or partners)

  • Engineering management experience, including senior management

Typical Education / Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD + related work experience, Master+2 years’ related work experience, 9 years’ related work experience, etc.)

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location site, Hazelwood MO.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: 178,500 – 241,500
