Manager, Test Engineering and Automation

What does a successful Manager, Test Engineering and Automation do at Fiserv?

As a Manager, Test Engineering and Automation, you will be a leader in test automation and will have a deep technical background in software engineering and automation specifically in a payments environment. You will streamline the test process, increase efficiency, and expand test coverage.

You'll be a part of the leadership team of our Core Acquiring Front End engineering group within the Fiserv Merchant Solutions (Payment Acceptance) business. We process over 350 million payment transactions per day with a peak throughput of over 8,000 transactions per second while maintaining millisecond-fast response time; all of this is done for some of the largest merchants in the U.S.

What you will do:

  • Hands-on development and optimization of test automation solutions

  • Lead, manage, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers

  • Set clear performance expectations and KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and support career development for all the team members

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineering teams on best practices, standards, tools, and methodologies

  • Coordinate work with multiple other teams across the enterprise, and communicate status of projects with senior associates, leadership and clients

  • Participates in development of methods and techniques to deliver projects

  • Formulate strategies to increase customer satisfaction as well as increase delivery quality and application stability

What you will need to have:

  • 7+ years of experience in software test engineering or similar roles

  • 5+ years in a leadership role with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives and setting priorities and plans to meet business goals and objectives

  • 5+ years of experience providing technical and managerial leadership to a group of high-performing engineers

  • 5+ years of experience working on low-latency, high-throughput, online transaction processing (OLTP) applications.

  • 5+ years of experience building test automation solutions and DevOps practices

  • 5+ years of experience with common testing tools and frameworks (Cucumber, Karate, JUnit, Selenium, etc.)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience

What would be great to have:

  • Payments technology / application development experience

  • Credit/Debit transaction testing experience

  • Card scheme understanding
