Walmart Senior Paralegal - Commercial Litigation in Bentonville, Arkansas

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Join the Walmart Indemnity Center of Expertise as Paralegal. This cross-functional team advises business clients and legal colleagues about Walmart's rights and obligations associated with vendor and supplier contracts. The Paralegal role is critical to assisting attorneys with the evaluation of tort and commercial litigation where Walmart's contractual indemnity rights may be implicated. You will work with vendors, suppliers, and their attorneys and insurers while protecting Walmart's rights. The Paralegal role may help facilitate the reporting of matters to Walmart's insurers. And you will assist with the development and implementation of policies and best practices to ensure indemnity matters are handled efficiently and consistently.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Providing support to attorneys by managing legal processes; receiving and reviewing requests for information; collecting, entering and maintaining legal information in various legal systems.

  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, providing status updates on legal processes, and responding to questions about legal matters.

  • Helping draft, operationalize, and update standard operating procedures and best practices.

  • Demonstrating and maintaining knowledge of general and specific legal areas, particularly in the litigation, contracting, and insurance reporting areas.

  • Ensuring that attorneys are aware of pending deadlines and assisting with budgeting and invoice review.

  • Assisting attorneys with legal research and analysis by identifying necessary information and helping determine relevant facts to support legal arguments; helping attorneys ensure legal documents comply with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Maintaining security and confidentiality of sensitive information, data, and communications.

  • Drafting, proofreading and updating presentations, reports, and templates.

  • You have strong communication skills to interact with senior leadership and stakeholders

  • You have experience working with cross-functional teams

Minimum qualifications...

  • A nationally recognized paralegal certification or an ABA-accredited paralegal degree AND 2 years' experience as a paralegal, legal analyst, or otherwise performing the responsibilities of a paralegal as defined by Walmart's job description OR 3 years' experience as a paralegal, legal analyst, or otherwise performing the responsibilities of a paralegal as defined by Walmart's job description OR a juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00-$63.00*

*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
