Currently, Whirlpool is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a critical Diversity Program Manager role at our Global Headquarters in Benton Harbor Michigan. In this role, you will be tasked to lead and enhance our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategies within talent acquisition. This role will design, implement, and oversee initiatives to attract, recruit, and retain diverse talent.

This role in summary

Currently, Whirlpool is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a critical Diversity Program Manager role at our Global Headquarters in Benton Harbor Michigan. In this role, you will be tasked to lead and enhance our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategies within talent acquisition. This role will design, implement, and oversee initiatives to attract, recruit, and retain diverse talent.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with hiring managers, recruiters, and leadership to drive measurable results, build strategic partnerships, and champion DEI best practices across the organization.

Your responsibilities will include

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall strategy for diversity in University Relations (UR). This involves overseeing diversity initiatives, coordinating with stakeholders, and integrating inclusivity into conference and campus recruiting planning and execution.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with diverse student organizations, career centers, and university leadership.

  • Collaborate with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other minority-serving institutions.

  • Plan and execute on-campus events such as info sessions, workshops, and networking events with a focus on diversity.

  • Represent the organization at university career fairs and other diversity recruiting events.

  • Pipeline Development.

  • Coordinate internships, leadership development programs, and mentorship initiatives targeting diverse students.

Metrics & Reporting

  • Analyze hiring data to measure the effectiveness of diversity initiatives and identify trends or gaps.

  • Create regular reports to communicate progress and recommend areas for improvement.

  • Outreach & Branding

  • Execute Conference Strategy

  • Identify and prioritize diversity-focused conferences such as NSBE, SHPE, and National Black MBA.

  • Oversee event Planning & Coordination

  • Provide direction on follow-up to candidates, ensuring a seamless recruitment process.

Recruitment Support:

  • Collaborate with recruiters and hiring managers to integrate DEI principles into the hiring process, including job postings, sourcing, interviews, and onboarding.

Post-Event Analysis

  • Collect and analyze data on conference recruiting outcomes, including hires and pipeline development.

  • Provide recommendations for future conference participation and investment.

Ability to travel up to 50%

Minimum requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of experience HR Talent Acquisition, HR, or Program Management.

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related fields.

  • 5+ years of experience HR Talent Acquisition, HR, or Program Management with DEI diversity initiative and hiring practices.

  • Ability to design, implement, and manage large-scale diversity recruitment programs.

  • Experience in managing multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining a focus on quality and impact.
