Midwest Goods Inc. Overnight Receiving Associate in Bensenville, Illinois

Location : Bensenville, IL

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 6:00 PM – 3:00 AM

Status: Full Time (Non-Exempt)

Compensation: $18 per hour

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Receiving Associate is responsible for the receiving of merchandise, signing paperwork upon receipt, unloading or unpacking merchandise, and stocking shelves. He or she performs work in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, and productivity.

Essential Functions

  • Observes and learns the work process and pro-actively asks questions to ensure successful and timely execution of purchase orders.

  • Accepts delivered packages and pallets by verification of incoming documentation.

  • Using a handheld scanning device, count and inspect products and their corresponding details.

  • Unload merchandise and mark products with identifying descriptions.

  • Verifies new incoming products and pulls and reports such per Company guidelines.

  • Organizes inbound shipments and merchandise according to direction provided by Management.

  • Applies internal product labels accordingly on exterior packaging of goods.

  • Separates products to be stocked and overstocked.

  • Verifies that all details of received goods match that of purchase orders prior to stocking.

  • Utilizes a handheld device to pick face replenishment based on the needs of the warehouse.

  • Stores and systematically scans backstock into shelves or pallet racking.

  • Reviews products for damaged goods and reports according to Standard Operating Procedures

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a warehouse environment where noise level can be loud. The employee is frequently exposed to fast moving carts and employees throughout the warehouse. Every employee must respect others by not swearing or playing loud music that could disturb others.

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, reaching up and lifting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to lift and move items up to 60 pounds.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. Sunday through Thursday 6 PM to 3 AM.

    Travel

    No travel is expected for this position .

    Required Education and Experience

    A minimum of HS Diploma or GED and one year of factory- or warehouse-related experience. Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and have basic math skills. Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office experience are required. Must be able to use warehouse equipment such as ladders, cutting tools, etc.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    Associate degree. Experience in operating forklifts. Experience with inventory management systems and ecommerce platforms.
