Hemodialysis Technician/Water Specialist
On the job training Hours: 0300-1130, 5 Days Per week, including every other Saturday. No experience required.
Water Specialist Responsibilities Include:
*Opening the dialysis unit and water room including the daily testing of the water system at 0300. Responsible for making sure all parameters are within acceptable range prior to patients arriving.
*Monitors and tests water treatment system for water hardness, chlorine, and system pressures and documents parameters accordingly. Set up dialysis machines for morning shift patients.
*Considered the first line of trouble shooting and assists employees with technical support for the equipment.
*Responsible for monitoring cultures and logging all findings for water room and machines on a monthly and as needed basis.
*Accountable for maintaining logs and record keeping for dialysis machines.
Hemodialysis Technician Responsibilities Include:
*Monitoring patients during dialysis, including vital signs and dialysis machine parameters.
*Observing patient condition and reporting any abnormalities to the nurse.
*Providing emotional support and addressing patient concerns.
*Preparing and maintaining vascular access sites (fistulas, grafts).
*Adhering to strict infection control practices to prevent the spread of disease.
*Properly cleaning and disinfecting equipment and work areas.
Required Qualifications:
*High School Diploma or equivalent
*Ability to obtain Certification as a Hemodialysis Technician wither 18 months of hire. On the job training provided.
*Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
*Compassionate and able to effectively communicate with patients and fellow team members.
*Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
