ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
Deschutes County Health Services supports over 400 staff in Behavioral and Public Health programs working to promote and protect the health and safety of the community in a broad variety of community-based settings.
Deschutes County Behavioral Health (DCBH) is the Community Mental Health Program providing safety net and core clinical services for community members in Deschutes County dealing with mental health and substance use conditions. DCBH is also a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). As such, DCBH relies on multi-disciplinary teams to provide innovative, evidence-based, recovery-oriented services in behavioral healthcare settings co-located with physical health providers.

ABOUT THE JOB:
The Administrative Support Specialist provides critical administrative support services as part of a dynamic team of administrative professionals for the Adult Outpatient Team. The Adult Outpatient Team utilizes an integrated model that treats co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, partnering with medical providers to support a whole health approach to recovery wellness. This position is primarily based in Bend though travel to and working at other sites in Bend, La Pine and Redmond will be required on occasion.
A typical schedule preferred for this position is four weekday mornings, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, although schedule options can be discussed. Working Tuesdays and Fridays 8:00 am to 1:00 pm is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Applies independent judgment to resolving problems, analyzing data, and making decisions.
Manages special projects, calendars, data management, accounting, and research.
Schedule meetings, track agenda items, take meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.
Provides administrative management of sensitive and confidential issues, including running reports.
What You Will Bring:
Knowledge of or experience with:
The role of administrative support in a healthcare setting.
Various computer programs including, but not limited to, Electronic Health Records systems, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Munis, etc.
Techniques for engaging with the public, both in person and over the phone.
Skill in:
Clear communication and problem solving.
Prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands .
Creating professional documents and correspondence with brief instructions.

Compensation
$2,183.56 to $2,926.17 per month for a 86.34-hour work month. Excellent County pro-rated benefits package when eligible. This union-represented position is available immediately.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent;
AND four (4) years of administrative support experience;
OR any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge to perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual in English and Spanish language.
Knowledge of EHR software, specifically the EPIC/OCHIN platform.
Necessary Special Requirements
Driving is a requirement for this position. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license within 30 days of hire date. The employment offer will be contingent upon presentation of an acceptable and verifiable driver's license, pre-employment screening for criminal history, driving history, and controlled substances (NOTE: Positive test results for marijuana use may result in rescission of a contingent offer of employment). This screening must be completed with satisfactory findings in order for a formal offer of employment to be extended.
Must have dependable transportation and be able and willing to drive throughout Deschutes County in sometimes adverse weather conditions.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule when necessary, to meet client and department needs.
