HILL COUNTRY TRANSIT DISTRICT Customer Service Representative - Bilingual in BELTON, Texas
SUMMARY
Position will perform routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance to include route and schedule information and trip planning, data processing, and record-keeping. Provide assistance with regular transportation tasks as needed, such as fare collection, uniform reconciliation. Responsible for complying with all Hill Country Transit District (HCTD) policies and procedures and all funding source regulations and requirements. Part-time position 20 - 30 hours a week, strong possibility will be moved to full-time.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1.Receives, screens, and directs calls and visitors to appropriate staff; takes messages as required. 2.Distributes applications for employment to potential applicants and routes completed applications to Human Resources; reviews applications upon receipt for completeness, and encourage applicants to complete prior to acceptance. 3.Sells bus tickets, tokens and monthly passes to the public for transportation services. 4.Responsible for internal and external distribution of all incoming and outgoing mail; ensures distribution to other HCTD office locations is properly labeled. 5.Participates in reporting and depositing of fare revenue in accordance with existing processes. 6.Maintains reception area in neat, efficient, and organized manner. 7.Prepares and maintains a variety of reports, correspondence, memos, etc., as needed or requested. 8.Duplicates and distributes materials as required. 9.Provides information to the public regarding transportation services and transit policy. 10.May serve as backup in preparation and distribution related to Special Transit Service (STS) applications to clients as requested. 11.Fulfills shared responsibilities for other Customer Service positions. 12.Participates in fare collection process as required, to include sorting revenue in preparation for deposit. 13.Maintain an orderly and professional appearing workstation.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy office environment. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet. Regular working hours are typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday with limited opportunities to work outside of this scope. Duties may be performed outside of normal working hours at varying hours of the day, including weekends and holidays.
This is a part-time position with potential to move to full-time.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:
Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time. Able to stoop, kneel, and bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis. Able to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High Sc ool Diploma or Equivalent. At least six (6) months clerical experience required. Must be 21 years of age. Must have a valid drivers' license. Must be able to perform general office administrative activities: use personal computer, including word processing and spreadsheet software, 10-key calculator, computerized accounting software, copying, filing, faxing, and using the telephone. Regular attendance and reliability is critical to business operations.
