The Sr. Product Manager (Data Governance) owns the Data Governance Products by rationalizing the tool (currently Collibra SaaS but can be any leading DG tool) and solution mix to optimally support the requirements coming from feature and capability requests from the Product Managers and Delivery. Defines the "How" a solution will be made/configured or built with a worklow automation. Works sprint by sprint to make sure that stories are ready in the backlog several sprints (now planning is 1 year) into the future to meet the quarterly release plans. Works with the teams (team-facing) orchestrating the devops team to solve the automation, simplicifcation and self-serve engineering challenges that will deliver results. Determines training needed for team members and keeps the team working well as they deliver consistently. Job Responsibilities: Implementation of DG for the enterprise including creating stewardship workflows and integrations with metadata gathering tools like Ataccama and Unity Catalog Generate and publish relevant KPIs on team progress with Powerpoint/PowerBI and prep data tables/views and reports to appropriate data governance forums on the Progress and health of Metadata pertinent to governance with internal business customers. Monitor data minimization, governance by design and stewardship issues with out of box Admin tools and monitors and collaborate with technology and business teams to remediate operational issues Collaborate/partner with data managers, data stewards and business SMEs on consistent implementation of data quality standards across data products Owns product end to end for complex or cross-platform solutions for products of the highest level of complexity and scope, or family of products. This includes creating, managing, maintaining and communicating product vision and roadmap including technical vision and capabilities. Designs and drives end user product research. Partners with business, internal/external stakeholders and Leadership to understand current customer experience, identifies areas of opportunity Conducts analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to identify product innovation opportunities or root cause of issues, and assess opportunity size and impact. May work with data scientists to answer complex questions or identify meaningful insights from data. Leverages rapid hypothesis driven testing methodologies and experiments (i.e. paper prototype, A/B testing, etc.) to inform direction, prioritize investment. Conducts cost-benefit / ROI / NPV analysis, to support decision making. Works with stakeholders and follows enterprise process to secure and maintain product funding. Anticipates industry trends, direction, innovation, analyses potential impacts or opportunities to customer / product, and incorporates analyses into product process. Communicates, influences, and sells ideas at VP level and below. This includes regularly delivering product presentations. Drives specific ad hoc analysis and presents information to executive level management on request. Influences product feature set or technical improvements to improve customer experience. Works with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities. Maintains current understanding of tech trends. Assesses how trends impact the roadmap or create opportunity for innovation of the product. Customer Evangelist Leverages customer insights for product vision, strategy, roadmap, priorities.
