Amazon Software Development Manager, AFT Quality in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers Amazon’s global fulfillment network by designing and building the software, hardware and processes that enable our customers to get what they want, when they want it. We put innovation into action, working alongside our employees in the FCs to move billions of customer orders through our Fulfillment Centers globally. AFT is creating the future of fulfillment, and we’re looking for people with big ideas and the drive to see them at work in the real world. If you’re ready to innovate on a global scale and manage a high performing team, join us.

When a human looks at a picture of an item or a container, they can easily identify what the item is and understand how to pick it up from the container. Robots and every fulfillment process from procurement through delivery relies on an understanding of item and container’s physical characteristics to make optimal fulfillment decisions. Our vision is to teach our systems to do what comes naturally to humans- identify items and containers, describe them, and enable decisions using computer vision at scale. This is a relatively new team and you will be one of the leaders helping shape this space.

Modular Data Collection and Insight Generation team provides a foundation that collects and vends data from various custom vision systems in fulfillment centers and supports foundational insight generation capabilities. MDCS is the foundational software that gets data out of the FCs and allows customers to pull reference image data sets for decision making. Container Insight Generator then leverages this data to infer visual signals that facilitate decision making of fulfillment operations. Our team integrates with multiple sensors that are commonly used to create vision systems, curates data and produces vision insights using AWS technologies and vision models.

We are seeking a Software Development Manager. The candidate will work with cross functional stakeholders in Fulfillment Technologies & Robotics (FTR) to come up with technical solutions and roadmap for future development.
