As a Software Engineer 2 on the AGI Data Services Organization, you'll pioneer compliance controls and model evaluation capabilities for Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) systems. Your role will involve:
• Developing cutting-edge techniques for data compliance.
• Developing agentic like model evaluation systems capable of assessing model fitness to business applications.
• Creating robust compliance controls for data ingestion.
• Working with Large Language Models (LLMs), Machine Learning, and traditional algorithms within large scale and low latency distributed systems.
• Designing and implementing near real-time systems for efficient data processing.
• Working with multi-modality data (e.g., text, image, videos, signals, books, code) and underlying processing technologies.
Your work will directly impact the ethical, legal, and safe deployment of AGI systems. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams comprised of engineers, scientists, attorneys, and business stakeholders to drive significant impact for Amazon Model and Application builders.

Key job responsibilities
• Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
• Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
• Create solutions to run inferences and data processing on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
• Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
