Your Role: As a software development engineer at MilliporeSigma, you will develop instruments, applications, and cloud services that help scientists solve the toughest problems in life science. Our products are used in universities and research labs around the world to perform important biological research. We are looking for a highly motivated full-stack developer who is interested in working across a variety of platforms and technologies depending on project needs - everything from designing databases, to implementing REST APIs, to developing user interfaces for web and native apps. You don't need to be an expert in all these areas but should be comfortable wearing different hats and willing to learn new technologies as needed. In a typical week you will work as part of a cross-functional project team of scientists, product and project managers, and other engineers to design and implement new features for existing and upcoming projects. You will meet with internal and external scientists to understand their workflows and develop solutions that meet their needs. You will collaborate with other developers to write software in C++ (Qt Framework) and a few other languages like Rust. You will also help produce both internal and user-facing documentation for products and applications, including documentation that meets regulatory requirements when applicable. This is a hybrid role that may be located in either Bellevue, WA or Burlington, MA. Who You Are Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline with 5+ years' software development experience Preferred Qualifications: * Experience developing applications in C++, with Qt Framework * Proficient with Qt5 and Qt6. * Experience designing and developing desktop embedded applications * Experience with Rust is a plus. * Experience working with REST APIs * Experience in UI/UX design concepts, with Figma experience a plus * Excellent knowledge of software engineering best practices and associated tools (e.g. Agile software development, test-driven development, unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, JIRA, Azure DevOps etc.) * Passion for building customer facing products in a diverse team * Excellent collaboration and communication skills * Willingness and ability to own all stages of the development process: design, testing, implementation, automation, and operational support * Ability to analyze sophisticated requirements and translate into technical design/architecture * Familiarity with GxP regulations and FDA regulated device development. Knowledge of CFR 21 Part 11 a plus Pay range for this position: $102,400.00 - $178,000.00 Our ranges are derived from several sources, and largely reliant on relevant industry market data.
