Project Engineer / Component Development TerraPower, LLC. is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to coordinate technical work across engineering disciplines, partners, and suppliers for TerraPower's Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) Program. This role will be responsible for defining, coordinating, and executing Equipment & Component Development for the MCFR Program. Initially the Project Engineer will focus on smaller development efforts such as flanges, valves, bearing, seals, and instrumentation. The role will grow with the MCFR Program moving next into molten salt pumps and heater exchangers. The Project Engineer will ultimately lead the design and construction of a multiple megawatt class molten salt test loop. The Project Engineer will report to the MCFR Senior Vice President. Responsibilities Technical Responsibilities * Provide Design Authority for assigned Equipment & Components * Identify and coordinate inputs and requirements needed to develop equipment and components including but not limited to flanges, valves, bearing, seals, instrumentation, pumps and heat exchangers. * Develop Component Specifications and Requirements * Develop Supplier/Vendor Statements of Work for FOAK Components * Oversee Supplier/Vendor Development Contracts * Coordinate with Supplier/Vendors, Test Engineering, and the Engineer Design Team to define component development needs. * Coordinate with Supplier/Vendors, Test Engineering, and the Engineer Design Team to define component test requirements and test plans. * Coordinate with Supplier/Vendors, Test Engineering, and the Engineer Design Team to execute component testing plans. * Support design reviews and the resolution of cross functional technical issues. * Coordinate with Engineering, Safety and Licensing teams to define the test mission, test requirements and test plans for a multiple megawatt class molten salt test loop. * Coordinate with Engineering, Safety and Licensing teams to design a multiple megawatt class molten salt test loop, its components and facility. * Ensure compliance of components with technical requirements. * Ensure components meet Quality Assurance requirements. * Hold periodic meetings with Technical Team to ensure appropriate communication of project information. * Demonstrate visible, continuous leadership in the areas of safety and quality.
