Long-term Contract Opportunity! (Remote, Hybrid, or Onsite Work Model)

System One is seeking a Plant Integration Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity supporting our client out of Bellevue, WA. This role offers a remote, hybrid, or onsite work model, dependent upon candidate location.

The Plant Integration Engineer – Plant Layout/3D Model supports both system integration and plant layout/3D model development for Energy Island Systems, Structures, and Components. In this role, you will support, and report to, Plant Design Oversight Manager and support oversight of system design and 3D model development for Energy island power cycle systems and auxiliary systems. The Energy island integration engineer will also provide oversight to 3D model development of Energy Island structures and building.

The successful candidate will support coordination between the design engineers working on systems, structures and components of the Plant, and the physical modeling teams to integrate ongoing engineering work and the Plant Layout 3D model.

Responsibilities

  • Provides integration and oversight to geographically diverse team members to develop the Energy island 3D plant model. and associated drawings.

  • Provide oversight and support integration of Energy Island power cycle systems and auxiliary systems.

  • Works closely with system leads and partner organizations to coordinate integration between the Energy Island Plant 3D model and Energy Island system design products, including component drawings and specifications, and system requirements

  • Works closely with partners or Architect/Engineer firm(s) to establish and control interfaces to balance of plant (BOP) systems and structures.

  • Supports development of documentation and relevant procedures for modeling work and plant design integration

  • Manages plant arrangement risks such as space envelope reservations, maintenance and testing requirements, construction considerations, etc.

  • Coordinates with other design groups and system lead engineers to ensure the design and model is consistent across interfacing systems

  • Provides technical support to plant model development and design integration using project collaboration and design tools.

    Ideal Background

  • The successful candidate will display leadership skills by proactively driving cross functional design collaboration and integration of Energy Island systems, structures, and components.

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant design experience in nuclear power plant or commercial power plant design or modifications, with emphasis on systems and equipment for power generation.

  • Experience providing support or oversight to power plant 3D models and/or engineering and design of steam and power systems, structures, and components, particularly power cycle systems and auxiliary systems.

  • The candidate must be team oriented, and able to work effectively with geographically distributed and possibly international design team members.

  • Possess project management skills enabling coordination of model updates across multiple organizations to meet schedule needs, and to manage any subcontracts associated with modeling work.

  • Strong communication skills and be able to provide leadership in presenting 3D model content to senior management, the engineering team, customers etc.

  • Ability to work in a conceptual design environment effectively where design assumptions must be made

  • Experience working to quality standards on design activities, such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.
