Part-Time MakerSpace Assistant (BC student only) Job ID: 14392 Location: Bellevue College Full/Part Time: Part Time Regular/Temporary: Temporary Position Summary Are you passionate about creative projects and have experience working with students? Are you a continuous learner and like helping with workshop planning? Do you like learning new tools, helping others to succeed while operating equipment for creative projects? You may be the perfect fit for this part-time MakerSpace Assistant position. The ideal candidate is a strong team player, highly organized and independent problem-solver, as well as meticulous, thorough, and disciplined. They enjoy working with different customers (students and faculty), can juggle multiple priorities, and work at a faster-than-average pace. This person is high-energy, outgoing, enthusiastic, and connects easily with others. The RISE Learning Institute's MakerSpace is a collaborative work space where BC students build and share their own creations while exploring and mastering new techniques and technologies. The MakerSpace Assistants play key roles in helping shape this exciting space. The core technologies for the MakerSpace include, but are not limited to; 3D printing, laser cutting, arduino and raspberry Pi, costumes and cosplay, soldering and circuits. MakerSpace Assistants are supervised by the RISE Associate Director and STEM Liaison. This is a temporary student only position. Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule Pay rate: $18.68/hour - $24.70/hour The salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and related experience, as well as market and business considerations. Typically, new hire starts no higher than $19/hour. The successful candidate is expected to work 6-12 hours per week. This position typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment. This position is expected to NOT be eligible for benefits. Student employees are entitled to begin accruing paid sick leave from the start of their employment.
