Position Summary

 

The Arts & Humanities division is seeking qualified candidates to teach INDES 262 Introduction to Revit, with a primary focus on interior design applications, for Spring 2025 in the Interior Design department. The Interior Design faculty will perform duties and functions under the general direction of the Provost and shall be responsible primarily to the Dean of Arts & Humanities.

Students successfully completing Introduction to Revit should be able to use Revit Architecture workflow and interface in various interior design-related scenarios, including: file transfers with industry-standard software packages; managing software and resources to place and visually communicate interior design elements, materials, structural components, and construction details; creating two-dimensional scale drawings and three-dimensional design visualizations using Enscape; applying architectural graphic conventions, managing drawing sets and model properties, and sharing output via digital and printed formats; applying discipline-specific language and graphic standards to effectively communicate interior building construction details, specifications, project requirements, and design solutions with members of allied disciplines.

 

The successful candidate must reside in Washington State by the start of the position and is responsible for a comprehensive and relevant overview of Revit Architecture for interior design; teaching a twice-weekly, 3 hour and 20 minute class in online, classroom, or hybrid mode; preparing and/or curating online tutorials; creating learning experiences and assignments that promote practice and incremental skill-building; grading assignments within one week of their submittal; being available to meet with students for a limited time outside of class; and responding to student inquiries in a timely manner.

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule

 

Adjunct Professor is typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment.

 

Quarterly remuneration for 5-credit class is $6,231.73 - 7,596.68 Compensation is prorated based on type and duration of assignments. Individuals newly hired to Adjunct Professor group at the college are placed at the minimum rate per union bargaining agreement. All additional compensations are subject to change depending on funding and negotiated agreement.
