Description

The Amazon Global Logistics Analytics team drives multiple core and advanced science initiatives for Fulfillment By Amazon (FBA). The approach and technology are disruptive, challenging traditional methods and transforming industry operations. Amazon seeks an exceptional Business Intelligence Engineer to support Sales, Marketing, and Pricing analytics for Global Logistics. This individual will build new business intelligence solutions end-to-end. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with big data sets and have the expertise to derive insights, answer business questions, and drive growth.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc. to support analytical and business needs for customer promise and operations.

  • Use analytical and statistical rigor to solve complex problems and drive business decisions to achieve strategic goals.

  • Write high-quality SQL code to retrieve and analyze data from database tables (e.g., Redshift, MySQL, Oracle), and understand Amazon's data resources to determine appropriate usage.

  • Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests, projects, and ongoing reporting.

  • In addition to leading the design, development, and management of analytical tools and reporting, the successful candidate will provide thought leadership and business analysis support as needed. They will demonstrate strong business acumen, experience in developing reporting and analytical infrastructures, excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

A day in the life

As a Business Intelligence Engineer at Amazon Global Logistics, your day may involve designing and building new data dashboards and reports to help the sales, marketing, and pricing teams make informed decisions. You'll be using advanced analytics and statistical techniques to uncover insights from large datasets, and then communicating those insights effectively to stakeholders. You'll also collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements. Throughout the day, you'll need to be adaptable and responsive to the ever-changing business landscape, ready to tackle new challenges and drive continuous improvement.

The Amazon Global Logistics Analytics team is a highly skilled and dedicated group of professionals who are passionate about using data to drive innovation and transformation within the logistics industry. The team works closely with colleagues across the organization, leveraging their collective expertise to solve complex business problems and drive strategic initiatives. Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)

  • Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree

  • Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design

  • Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
