The Department of Transportation is currently seeking a motivated and reliable Custodial Worker 1! In this position, you will perform routine manual work on a seasonal basis in the custodial care for the County Maintenance Office and surrounding grounds. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The primary responsibility of this position involves providing custodial assistance at the  custodial support within and outside the Centre County Maintenance Office, to ensure smooth and efficient operations. It is crucial to uphold a clean and secure environment as part of your duties, which will include regular manual cleaning, waxing, dusting, and polishing of various surfaces. Ensuring cleanliness of restrooms and restocking supplies is also essential. Additionally, maintaining the exterior premises, clearing snow, sweeping walkways, and mowing the lawn are part of the job. Proper disposal of waste materials, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, and communication with supervisors and colleagues daily are also key responsibilities. Maintaining a professional and friendly attitude towards travelers is important.
