Job Title: Process/Quality Engineer

Job Description

This role blends quality and manufacturing engineering, requiring collaboration with both the production floor and quality department. You will be responsible for issuing and identifying callouts and dimensions for tooling, such as molds and mandrels.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a Composite Specialist with hands-on experience.

  • Spend approximately 50% of the time on the manufacturing floor for training, problem resolution, and inspection.

  • Create Certificates of Conformance (C of C’s) and inspection reports; support inspection technicians as needed.

  • Interact with customers and vendors regarding all aspects of manufacturing.

  • Review contracts for new orders and determine manufacturing capabilities and improvements.

  • Assist sales and management with potential bids.

  • Review and update work orders according to drawing requirements and specifications.

  • Identify callouts and dimensions for tooling, including molds and mandrels.

  • Maintain a proactive, adaptive, and flexible approach in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with composite materials.

  • Vendor management skills.

  • Process engineering expertise.

  • Continuous improvement knowledge.

  • Experience working with T1 vendors such as NG, Boeing, Airbus, and Ducommun.

  • Ability to perform root cause analysis.

  • Process improvement capabilities.

  • Quality system management.

  • Internal auditing experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with AS9100 standards.

  • Ability to interact with customers regarding manufacturing floor aspects.

Work Environment

This is a fast-paced, roll-up-your-sleeves environment where everyone knows each other and there are no workforce politics. The management is supportive, and there are opportunities for vertical growth within the company and at its sister company in Santa Ana. Depending on the company's performance, there could be a payout or bonus at the end of the year.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00
