Actalent Medical Assistant in Bel Air, Maryland

Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

Under the supervision of the provider, the Medical Assistant will be responsible for rooming patients, conducting triage, taking vitals, and utilizing the EPIC EMR system. Some front desk work may be required based on the coverage needs of the office.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and prepare them for their appointments

  • Conduct patient triage and take vitals

  • Utilize the EPIC EMR system for patient records

  • Perform manual blood pressure readings

  • Provide excellent customer service

  • Verify patient insurance information

  • Assist with front desk duties as needed

Essential Skills

  • Medical assisting

  • Experience with EPIC EMR system

  • Knowledge of cardiology

  • Ability to take vitals and perform triage

  • Manual blood pressure measurement

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Insurance verification

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Patient care

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Must be certified as a Medical Assistant

  • Experience in a cardiology office is highly preferred

  • EPIC experience is highly preferred

  • Strong attention to detail

Work Environment

This is a very fast-paced cardiology office with seven providers seeing up to 180 patients per day. There is a 1:1 Medical Assistant to provider ratio. The office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The office has a great culture with friendly and supportive providers who frequently host employee lunches. Additionally, there is a tiered medical assistant program that allows for career advancement.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
