The Edinburg Center Counselor in Bedford, Massachusetts

Day Treatment Counselor III

$20.25 per hour

Who You Are:

BA/BS in related field and/or experience with population preferred. Valid MA driver’s license. Be able to pass ServSafe and board of Health Certifications within one year of hire.

What You Will Do:

  • Provides accurate observations/assessments of people’s behaviors and treatment progress; incorporates this information into treatment planning.

  • Models interpersonal skills with people (facilitates communications, gives direct and appropriate feedback, assists in relationship building).

  • Provides community awareness instruction, including use of community resources and facilities, throughout the program, outside and in neighboring facilities (shops, bank, restaurants).

  • Assists/advocates for people in interactions with other service agencies, as needed.

  • Participates/co-leads in groups as requested.

  • Provides crisis intervention as needed, consistent with the person’s treatment plan and Center policies.

  • Ensures first aid rendered or other emergency assistance, as necessary.

  • Helps to facilitate meetings with the person and other group interactions.

  • Alternates with other Day Program staff in transporting clients in the van for activities. Keeps clinical records complete, accurate and up-to-date, including incident reports.

  • Manages Kitchen equipment repairs, inspections and purchases as needed.

  • Maintains inspections records for the kitchen (pest control, temperature checks, sanitizer checks, grease trap removal and other as needed).

  • Conducts and maintains records of fire drills and safety procedure.

  • Ensures kitchen site security and cleanliness.

  • Maintains food inventory and weekly shopping lists. Maintain ServSafe standards in kitchen.
